*Father and two sons **"Place of residence different. Third son was enroute to Missouri being a few years younger.
Family migrated from TN to Arkansas.
Later to Iowa through Missouri then to the Dakotas and into Minn.
These were not twin sons. Benjamin apparently lied about his age to enlist. The brothers were half brothers from the same mother. William and
his brother married two sisters. One died and the two brothers took up
housekeeping with the surviving sister. It took us a while to determine that both
had children by the surviving sister. Unraveled only when the various records
showed they both claimed the same mother. Uncle Dad!
Grandpa William and his sons joined the Union Army (leaving the Confederate Army)
after General Bedford Forrest's men burned Berryville, Arkansas and shot their cousin on his wedding night for having Union Calvary boots.
